Exciting Times Ahead

Posted 4 November, 2014 By Petra

Hi Everyone,
live has been taking some interesting turns and the website has suffered with some neglect over the past few months, but … things are moving ahead with some exciting developments.

First of all, to all those who have signed up as foundation members, I thank you very much. I have stopped the ability for new members to sign up a while back (about the same time I put the ‘Downtime’ post on) as it wasn’t fair to allow anyone to sign up whilst the website was very very quiet. All those who have signed up, thank you for your continued support.

As you may all be aware, I love teaching, but the online course has thrown up some unique challenges as I discovered that, even though I thought I had everything sorted… I was far from it. So back to the drawing board with that one.  There will be an online course… eventually. I am a bit of a perfectionist (those who know me well will nod their heads in agreeance) and want the course to be at a level that it can lead to practitioner qualification and recognition, so loads of work to go.

In the meantime, I am out and about treating horses using CranioSacral Therapy, Massage and Herbs and I am getting some great feedback, as well as supporting the health of dogs with my herbal blends.

I have also been giving talks about the use of herbs for horses. My aim is to educated horse owners about the safe, effective and economical use of herbs for their horses, and when to call a vet. It always scares me when I see, especially on Facebook, post like ‘my horse has a bad cut and bleeding… what do I do’, or ‘my horse stands funny like this … do you think herb xxx will help’.  As horse owners we need to know when to call the vet and when it is okay to use herbs.

This week I am talking to my riding club, Lockyer Equestrian Group, about sand colic and the use of turmeric. It will be a great talk as following that one of the educators from Virbac is talking about worming. I am sure there will be a great discussion following this talk about the use of herbs and worming. I am really looking forward to that.

Petra :)
