Looking for Mentees (or is it Minties?)

Hi All,

First of all… A Very Happy New Year to everyone.

Mr. Squiggles

Mr. Squiggles

I know it’s already February, but loads has happened since my last post way back in August. I have been away on course learning Equine Biomechanics with Sharon May-Davis, started my CranioSacral Therapy course for human and horse, Mr. Squiggles was born on the 4th of November and has been keeping me busy, and I’ve been developing and making up new herbal blends, sending herbs all over Australia.

The herbs are taking off with lots of calls for more information, more then I can give over the phone without spending hours on the phone. Don’t get me wrong, I Love sharing knowledge, so I got thinking and after bouncing the idea of some of my peer friends the idea of a Mentorship Programme came about.

The aim is to build a resource for horse owners to get information, ask for advise, and learn about using herbs for horses.  I envisioned a place to go to to chat about using herbs, a place to ask questions, get answers from a qualified herbalist or two or three, and peers who use herbs, find out information about supportive modalities, and if one is so inclined, to learn about herbalism and herbs with some semi-formal study.

So the idea of the Mentorship Programme was born, and I have been working on this idea for a few months now, to the detriment of my usual monthly posts. But… I am so excited because, although not everything is there yet, I am ready to put the Mentorship Programme out there, because I could use your help.

Lots of work is needed to populate (add content) the Forum, something that I cannot do alone, and I need some ‘students’ to test drive the course for me, meet in the chat room with me and keep me on my toes.

Being a Foundation Member of the Mentorship Programme will also give you discounts for face-to-face herb courses I will be running from July 2014. Dates for those will be coming up soon and yes, I am happy to travel, so if you are interested in organising a weekend workshop feel free to contact me to discuss dates, venue requirements and course fees.

How much does it cost to be a Foundation Member?
Just $5 per month or a one off payment of $60 for the full year.

These are just some of the Benefits I can offer you:
  • Access to the member’s only forum (up and ready for you to add your input)
  • Access to educational articles about herbs and how to use them (click on ‘mentorship’ category)
  • Access to information on how to make your own herbal remedies (information soon on the forum and in the course)
  • Access to information on how to use essential oils on horses (information soon on the forum)
  • Access to a growing Materia Medica (currently you need to click on ‘Materia Medica’ category but soon it will have it’s own dedicated Wiki page)
  • Educational videos and webinars (a work in progress)
  • Chat Room (coming soon)
  • Discounts on herbs and herbal courses (the online one is currently included for Foundation Members)

Lots of work is needed to populate (add content) the Forum, something that I cannot do alone, and I need some ‘students’ to test drive the online course for me, meet in the chat room with me and keep me on my toes.

Interested to be part of this exciting project? Then feel free to click here and become a founding member and be part of the development of a great educational resource.

Please Note:

The Mentorship Programme should never be used to replace veterinary advise, and you should never stop veterinary prescribed medication without consulting with your vet and/or accredited herbalist.
